This experience is for women who are ready to consciously prepare their body, mind, and spirit for new life—whether that means calling in a baby, carrying one now, or reconnecting to the wisdom of the womb after birth.
It’s a space to clear inherited beliefs, release fear, reclaim your voice, and remember the womb as sacred.
Along The Rooted Journey, you’ll move through three foundational pillars that offer ritual and embodied practices to support deep healing, help and root into your creative power. You’ll gather in community for weekly live sessions, supported by module reflections, and education to reconnect with your body, lineage, and the Earth—all from the safety of your own space.
Pillar One: Clearing the Path
to Release fear, inherited beliefs, and old stories that live in the body. Open space for new life — within or around you — through conscious intention and ancestral ritual.
Pillar Two: Easing the Root Upward
to Reclaim your inner voice and unlearn what colonization, culture, or conditioning taught you to believe about birth, womanhood, and worth. Strengthen your trust in your body and mind.
Pillar Three: Nourishing the Self & Soil
to Reconnect to the Earth as your ally and your womb as sacred land. Cultivate a personal blueprint for birth, creation, or becoming — one rooted in your truth.
An online immersion w/an intentional community of like-minded women gathering in ceremony and reflection each week.
OVER THREE WEEKS, YOU'LL RECEIVE :
• Live Weekly Ceremonies (75–90 min) on Zoom, guided by a traditional birthworker
• Self-paced video teachings, meditations, and journal rituals inside a private course platform
• Printable sacred tools: birth maps, ritual guides, affirmation cards, and templates
• Private community space for connection, questions, and collective support
This is not just a course. It is a container. A return. A circle of women reclaiming the sacred. Join us !
A 3.5 HOUR IN-PERSON GATHERING WHERE YOU ARE :
• Welcomed into a warm, supportive room where nothing is rushed.
We begin with grounding — breath, stillness, and presence.
• Moved through guided practices: meditation, gentle movement, journaling, and reflection.
• Nourished with a light, intentional meal and space to rest or connect. No expectations. Just presence.
• Encouraged to release what’s heavy. To reconnect with your body.
To remember that birth — in all its forms — begins with preparation of the soul, not just the body.
• Left with simple practices you can return to, and a deeper sense of trust in yourself and your journey. Come as you are. Leave more rooted in who you’ve always been.
Rooted is a community centered workshop that blends black ancestral wisdom , somatic healing and culturally grounded birth education.
In our 90 minute session, we center Pillar One: Clearing the Path to Conscious Conception & Evolution - the foundational phase of the Rooted Method. Students are invited to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with the wisdom of their bodies, while examining how systems , cultural narrative & lived experiences shape the way black women approach conception, pregnancy, and care.
Together we begin the work of unlearning fear-based, medicalized birth narratives and move toward a more grounded, liberated understanding- one that honors birth as a Rite of Passage.
Or framework was originally created to support women preparing to conceive, navigating pregnancy, or healing their womb stories. Over time, it has evolved into a community based experience that also welcomes students, future health professionals, birth workers, & leaders committed to reproductive Justin & holistic care.
* especially relevant for student in nursing, public health, psychology, africana studies, social work & gender studies- as well as those pursuing doula, midwifery or wellness centered paths.
I am a mother of 2, a creative and deeply passionate concerning all the ways to positively impact humanity, beginning at the foundation of life.
My journey into birth work began with the births of my own children. Through those embodied experiences, I heard the call to support others in their own rites of passage and over the past 6 years I've done just that. My Mission is to globally help others cultivate a more expansive understanding of reproductive justice — and to recognize its deep connections to all systems of life, care, and community. As not only a birth worker, but A child birth educator and Founder of The School of Conscious Birth Work -I have a deep responsibility to guide aspiring doulas into this sacred calling with integrity, reverence, and purpose as well.
I believe that a conscious birth creates a conscious world and through my offerings, I’m here amplify that truth.
With love and purpose,
Akia
